Fabia vrs pd150 Sachs organic disk fit std pressure plate ?

Featured Replies

Hi there had my Fabia vrs remapped after 1749vb fitted with a stage 2 gerneric map at roughly 195-200bhp and was planning ahead for the inevitable of the clutch slipping just wanted to know if you can use the Sachs organic disk with the standard pressure plate , sorry for the essay cheers !!

Depends on which flywheel the clutch plate is made for,if it's for a DMF it will be unsprung,if it's for a SMF it will be a sprung plate

id be using the original dmf and checked the disk isn't sprung

How many miles has car done?

Are you doing it yourself or paying someone to do it?

Not worth using the original DMF, replace the whole lot or you'll just end up doing the job twice.

Are there any quiet, high torque 'harnessing' clutch and flywheel solutions? I'd prefer to stick to a dmf for daily diving ease. Yet there seems to be no alternative capable of handling 350ftlb + than a single mass.

An uprated DMF can handle it if you don't abuse it.

Have you got info on the uprated DMF? who sells it etc

I have searched and never found any concrete info on an uprated DMF, also contacted Sachs and they did not appear to know anything about an uprated DMF for the 1.9tdi.

I had the xman uprated DMF which failed and are no longer for sale due to the issues with them.

Around 1500 miles the DMF started to make a noise, at 2000 miles it was a very bad noise, when I replaced it the two halves of the DMF were so loose they were knocking together.

If you watch the video I made of the SMF I replaced it with you will see the DMF part way through and how bad it was: https://youtu.be/O5DEHjQzMLU

It was a real pity as it was quiet with a nice pedal feel and could hold the 350lbs torque I have ok, I wish there was an uprated DMF option available!
