"Blinking" your brake light three times seems to be the done thing round here.

That, or letting the pushy f***er go for it and get themselves a ticket...that'll learn 'em... ;)

If it's some **** up your chuff it's " Slow down wind down window and gesture for them to pass you, and smile at them as they pass.......:D........Don't really know.........................:)

Standing on the brakes and driving at 10-15mph below the speed limit seems to be the done thing for the few cameras we have round here

Everyone should move to North Yorkshire................We don't have any "Fixed" camaras ..................YET.. only mobile ones..:finger:

Fixed cameras - slam on the anchors heavily 50 yards before the camera. As soon as you pass the last of the road markings hit "resume" on the cruise and waft back up to 130 :D :D :D

Mobile cameras - as above but substitute "the van" for "the last of the road markings"

Joking of course. I never exceed speed limits so don't worry about cameras.

Is this the signal? :fap:

Thought someone just got prosecuted for warning another driver about a speeding trap.

Is it different for cameras I wonder?

Always wanted to move back 'Home' - Was Born in Harrogate.

Maybe now is the right time.

I remember the case a year or few back about a guy who set up a sign warning drivers of a speed camera (think it was mobile one) - his argument was that it slowed people down, so it did the job. The judge thought otherwise...

:D not a TVR driving Judge then.

Think this was very recent.A lorry driver waving to warn people going the other way about a trap

:D There's a signal I wouldn't mind giving to speed cameras, LOL.

It just rankles when a hidden cash machine gets its way by clocking the accelerated overtaking speed.

The 3x brake lights sounds good :) (Edit: presumably not guilty of anything other than regulating one's speed.)

Race them to the speed camear, fall behind slightly, then brake really hard, and watch the sucker get 3 points

I read about the lorry driver. He got let off because:

- He claimed he was warning vehicles behind he was slowing down due to a suspected fault on his lorry

- The Police couldnt prove that any vehicles had slowed down due to his action

He got cleared of the charges but I think the Police are taking it back to court to try and stop it happening again, ie make it so they dont have to prove anybody slowed down.

Why not give a few flashes of your right indicator, is this not the universal signal for "do not overtake me" no matter whether there's a speed camera or not ?

I thought it was the universal sign for "I do not use my mirrors before pulling out"...it's usually accompanied by a veering to the right... :D

Pretty much up to the person overtaking to see the camera, it's probably more dangerous to warn them (other than by having a road sign LOL).

That said I loved the irony in Holland when I saw a police car pull over a driver that had been cutting through traffic at WAY above NSL and slowed down with smoking tyres as he spotted a speed camera. He missed the traffic car in the familiar yellow-striped theme & got done that way instead

That was always my first thought logically, but accident-wise, if that means an accelerating car will have to brake sharply whilst coming up behind me at a speed to overtake, it's probably a good way of getting rear-ended.

It's really because I was not happy with right-indicating that I was looking for an alternative, or more particularly anything recognised.

Around here, for example, hazard lights are "thank you" to drivers behind, but perplexing to those not in the know.
