Keyfob Remote Central Loccking

Featured Replies

Afternoon guys,

My old 2001 fabia workhorse keyfobs have both stopped working, they've both got new batteries in but still no joy.

I found a way of resetting them myself on here & gave it a try but it hasn't worked, what's my next option on getting these to work? The central locking works fine from the key but life would be easier if the buttons worked again!

I don't fancy new keys from skoda as if imagine they're not cheap (iirc I was quoted around £175 a few years ago from VW when I lost my mk4 golf key!) & I've seen some on eBay but I'd have to get them cut & coded etc.

Any other options or advice?

Thanks in advance!!

You don't have to get a new key, just a remote if its faulty.

Where's the best place to get one from? Obviously that would need coding to the car once that's done??

May be worth mentioning the method that you tried as this may change dependant on year of car, and someone may be able to suggest a different method.

Check the voltage on the new batteries?

Failing that, get the code off the keyfob back end and have a look around eBay.

J.
