Front parking assist

Featured Replies

Hi.

When I select reverse to back out of my driveway the rear park assist & rear view camera come on, no problem. When I then select D the front assist display comes on for a few hundred yards, then goes off, no problem.

When I get home the front assist does not turn on automatically until I am about to collide with the garage doors (I exaggerate a little)  . I can turn it on manually with the button on the centre console, and again it's not a major problem.

Is there a setting somewhere to change the distance at which the front assist turns itself on?

Just curious

You may find it's something to do with approach speed - mine operates automatically when selecting first and creeping forward.

If you make the R to D change quickly and don't give the sensors time to wake up and detect then maybe that's the issue?

I sometimes find this in slow moving traffic but it is very intermtent.

Also have the fronts trigger at random times so maybe a fault, worse in wet weather.

Try standing, tapping something to the location you normally park at incase it's, a surface non recognition thing, or is Ther a single item that you park against that protrudes that out, so is not a large enough area to be picked u quickly enough.I had a rear park hit with an old bit of angle steel 300mm in a park bay that should have had a sign on. Mine is just standard reverse sensor though

Pretty sure you can code it to come on at higher speeds.......
