Sportline Estates in the uk

Featured Replies

Hi all

I currently have a Octavia VRS TDI which I love but it's too small.

The Superb Sportline looks like it might tick most of the boxes for style and the engine options should do most of the rest.

The question is when is it available in the UK? there is no sign of it on the Skoda UK website or brochures.

Cheers

Stu

Thought I had read it was available to order from 9th Aug.

But as you say there's no trace of it online

Their Configurator seems to be working and you can configure a sportline

Thought I would configure one with the same spec. as my L&K 280, I left off the TV tuner but added everything else my car has, came out at £45,255.00!

A similar spec. L&K came out at £40,100.00

as far as I can see that's five grand for some black paint and a dingy black interior complete with black headlining, very seventies!

Can't see it Phil ?

£45k!! Are you sure they weren't just swapping the Audi badges off it?

Thanks chaps I'll have a look at the link.  The revised body kit, bigger wheels, suspension and different Diff were the drivers.  The black on black interior is fine in the OCty so guess it would be fine with one of these.

Whoooo in the configurator. That must have appeared today because I have been watching every day for the last 2 weeks.

Must be time to give my money to Skoda :)

I don't mind. I don't need some of the things on the L&K, don't need tri zone air con or heated back seats. With the money saved on those I think the Sportline is only £1.5k more than the L&K I previously spec'ed and for me that is really good news!

If I had bought the L&K I was looking to get it wrapped, buy aftermarket all black wheels, and somehow get the chrome all blacked out, all of that would have cost me more than 1.5k. I have wanted black over chrome for so long, even hate the chrome window surrounds and grill on my Mk II Superb but never got round to replacing them.

By the way all, the Configurator is broken

Does not have the really nice dragon green on the colour options, and the wheel selection is not correct.

For my spec (190 DSG) they come out at:

SportLine = £37,075

L&K = £35,970

The SportLine appears to come with flappy paddles as std whereas they are a £95 option on the L&K, that said the L&K I specced still has 19” wheels (£650) and ventilated seats (£425) which are not an option on the SL, having used these daily I wouldn’t buy a car without them again.

Sportline comes with  flappy paddles as std, and in the configurator as it is today with 19" wheels as std (all be it different ones to the L&K). Still a shame the wheels are not all black, might have to order after market wheels. Polish website showed all black 18" as standard on the sportline and the 19" as option - http://skoda.polbisauto.pl/en/models/superb-sportline

I have found the options to be broken as well as the colour selection not featuring green. By broken I mean odd behaviour on what can and can't be included with what else. I expect we will see the configurator change again in the coming days. Until it has the dragon green I still can't order.

The other one I want to know is do people think I should add Dynamic chassis control (DCC) for £750?

Anybody know what the stock sportline setup is? I assume sports suspension which I am happy with. Is DCC worth it?

Hi,

Sport suspension which is 15mm lower is standard & 19inch Vega Alloys.

Vega Alloys are not that nice. I really wish for these - https://i.ytimg.com/vi/xRbULYZ22WI/maxresdefault.jpg

Looks like I can get them on SuperSkoda, but then need to find a buyer for the Vega's or the price just keeps going up.

I have seen people talk about so called "Factory orders" are these really a thing, where I can get a dealer to speak to the factory and spec paint colours or wheels I can't otherwise get on the configurator?

Sorry all, I know I sound really fussy, but I want a bright colours combi with all as much black out chrome as possible, ideally all black wheels which neither the Vega or SuperNova's are :(

The spec of each car will vary from country to country. It is determined by the head office of the naked in each country. If it's not listed our configurator you have no chance.

Unfortunately a factory order means a car is built to your specification from the options available in your Country so its bespoke but within limits.

It is now on the UK configurator and I am disappointed with its spec. Need to study the detail add I thought it might have a few other bits n bobs available.

Hi there hpoom,

Saw your post.  Here's an extract from a recent post of mine...hope it's useful.  I would definitely go for DCC (it ought to be standard on the Superb...it's less than Superb without it)

Cheers,

Dan.

"I also thought about the Sirius 19" alloys, but, as good as they look, I couldn't justify the extra cash.   Also, having been lucky to have had a 5 day test drive of four Superb estates (3 x  280s and 1 x 190TDi 4x4) of differing specifications, I found a noticeable increase in road noise with the 280 that was riding on 19" wheels.  I thought the ride on 19s was a tad more fidgety in Normal DCC mode too."

Personally, I would spend my cash on DCC.   The two Superbs I tried on standard springs were OK in a straight line but wallowed like drunken cows in corners (the long wheelbase doesn't help).

I'm maybe being harsh, as I currently drive a Focus ST, but a Superb on standard springs seriously lacks cohesive body control compared to its rivals e.g. a standard Mondeo - a car that  handles better yet rides just as well on standard wheels compared to a standard Superb).   On the other hand, the DCC spec'd Superbs I drove were far more capable in the corners and have an overall edge over a standard Mondeo.

Thanks Dan, I would get DCC if I was going for standard suspension, but I am not. I plan to buy a sportline which has sports suspension, so feel I should not need DCC. Still in talks with dealers at the moment trying to get a good price.

Looks like the Sportline is DSG only (in 190 spec)??? WTAF?

Anyone confirm this?
