New Octavia

Featured Replies

Hi Boys and Girls,

There are a lot of rumours flying around about a new Octavia sometime in 2005.

So my question is will the vRS version come with AWD which is a must?

Anyone in the know out there?

There have been a few threads on this recently. The consensus seems to be that there is unlikely to be a vRS (or a 4X4) at launch.

Will those models be added later? Who knows. Uncle VAG is notoriously jealous, and has specific plans for Skoda's development. Now that the Octavia doesn't need WRC homologation, it may be that the vRS is surplus to requirements.

I'd be surprised not to see a new vRS in 2005 or 2006, but I personally can't see it having four wheel drive.

Hi Nick,

As far as I know the new Octavia is due sometime next year (2004), somewhere on here are some photoshop pics of what it may look like. (do a search)

Cheers Paul J

Hi Nick,

According to AutoExpress forthcoming model launch listing, September 2004 is the target date.

And as previously stated, it is unlikely that there will be a performance version at launch and even less likely that we will see a 4x4 vRS - esp. in the UK!

The Octavia model range in Europe (and Germany in particular) is much more varied - you can virtually build your own spec car!
