fog and sidelight bulbs

Featured Replies

In the process if fitting Depo Xenon Headlights to Furby, and passed a merc in the early hours of this morning with Xenon main beam, and normal halogen fogs and sidelights and it looked stupid, which is something that didn't really occur to me before.

The bulbs I have for my Xenons are 5000K, and I was wondering if anyone could recommend Side and Fog lights which emit a similar coloured light.

Anyway, back to removing the old ones first!

Cheers in advance for your suggestions.

Well, in the first place the only time I'd ever have headlights and fogs on at the same time is if I wanted the rear fog in daylight, and that's only because VAG switchgear makes front fogs (if present) mandatory if you want the rear.

About the whitest sidelight bulbs you can get are the Phillips "blue white" ones, or splash out on white LED "bulbs".

Yeah I drive past Fenwick and Shotts every morning on the M77 and M8 so fog lights are in use every other day tbh. Shotts especially would appear to have its own weather system, kind of reminds me of the film, The Others. Never occurred to me about LED fog lights, as long as the led sidelights don't look too bright like most of those stupid daytime running lights, which are so bright, alot of people think their lights are on until a 44 tonner chuffs them up the rear in the morning fog due to them having no effing lights on.

Anyway thanks for the tip, will maybe try the Philips ones.

Ah right.

What I'm saying here then is maybe a bit that I'd have certainly dipped headlights (maybe main beam if the traffic's light because it won't dazzle you and will mean that the guy in front can see you from further away; try it before saying I'm talking rubbish) but that doesn't help match light colours.

Still there was one guy lives near me who was both an Audiot and a fogwit, and had yellow tinted fog lenses and blue (maybe filter, maybe 6_000k units) dip!
