Bulb Types?

Featured Replies

My 2015 Octavia III has halogen headlamps, and "normal" (non-LED) rear lamps so I'm trying to find what the bulb types are so I can carry the appropriate spares when we go to France.

The Owners Manual is unhelpful on the subject, yes it tells you how to replace most of the bulbs (not all) but is totally silent on the bulb types.

I've tried getting information from some of the online car bulb suppliers but it seems the database that most of them use stops at 2014 models - and the bulb types shown for 2014 do not match with the bulb I can see on my 2015 Octavia.

Does anyone have a link to somewhere that lists the correct bulb types?

Carrying a spare set of bulbs in France has become something of a grey area for the simple reason that it's impossible for the average person to change most bulbs on a car. For instance I think the front flasher bulbs on the Mk.3 need a repair kit and/or tools to replace.

Don't forget that there are compulsory items such as a high vis vest, breathalyser, etc. that must be carried. Also, you must use a warning triangle if you break down. Have a look at http://www.euroadlegal.co.uk/country/france.html  and http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/touring_tips/compulsory_equipment.pdf

As we've been to France every year for longer than I can remember we've already got all of those thank you, just need details on the spare bulbs I have to carry.

BTW even if you can't fit them yourself at the roadside you are still required to carry a spare of all bulb types, unless you want to have an "interesting" (and possibly financially draining) roadside conversation with a Gendarme.

But then again Skoda owners are better than "the average person" :)

I thought the main beam/sidelight/DRL/parking bulb is actually a dual filament H15 bulb (which is included in the kit)?

This has two filaments - a 55W for main beam and a 15W for sidelight/DRL/parking.

Yes, you're quite correct. I presume that the 15w filament is run at lower power to provide the parking light/side light but at full power to provide DRL

Just been searching for bulb kits without luck. But on one site it clearly states the H15 bulb is not for my 2016 Skoda Octavia Combi 1.4 TSI.

The above site does not show a main beam bulb. I do have H7 dip beam bulbs in a kit already but with H1 mains.

The handbook shows , in principle, how to change some of the  bulbs but there is no mention of the bulb types!

At least headlight removal is not  needed now for bulb replacement.

Hi all, I have a vRS and want to change the standard bulbs to LED's. I have done many searches on this forum ('bulb' & 'led conversion') but not had any success in finding the info I want. Have read lots of conflicting info on the fog light bulbs so am now a bit confused!! I have looked at the genuine bulb kits on SuperSkoda and whilst there is a list of the bulbs in the kit, it doesnt say their application, the hand book is hopeless... So,

Would it be possible if someone who may have done this conversion could list the bulb types I need for:-

Side lights

Front fog inner

Front fog outer

Front Indicator

Rear Indicator

Brake light

Fog light

Reverse light

Inside courtesy light in the rear

Thanks.

If it hasn't changed since my MY14 the front bulbs are as follows

H7 dipped beam

H8 fog lights

H15 DLR'S and main beam

Cheers Tony, does yours have bi-xenons?

No standard halogens

See if you can get a hold of a member called black_sheep he has a vRS and IIRC he has charged every bulb inside and out
