Options for roof lining... Wrap? Paint?

Featured Replies

My roof lining is the gray colour at the minute and it's got dirty marks on it that won't clean out.

I don't want to replace it but would like a black one possibly... So thinking about wrapping it in something, possibly leather to match leather seats but worried it might look a little... Bondage :D

Not sure what my options even are so what's anyone els done?

take it out, use spray adhesive and recover it in fabric

That's one of my plans, not sure how it will work around the curves for the interior light, it's quite a deep curve really.

Still thinking faux leather wrap...

stretchy fabric works fine.

What about fabric spray paint?

I've used Auto Glym spray dye before on a EVO head lining and that worked well :)

Or just buy my black one with the handles and visors. ..lol

Yeah I think there are a few black ones kicking about. Suppose you could buy one off someone and try it rather than possibly butchering your own. I know Jambro had a couple at one point.

I was going to buy his private plate but got nabbed for speeding when I forgot I was in my van instead of the car and had the cruise at 60 on the A82. Raging at my own stupidity today so no reg number for me, fine to pay instead.

Problem is... It's for my mk2, but the mk2 section isn't near as fun as the mk1, but I'll keep that quiet.

That's because some of theirs are still shiny and new and worth money. Mk1 owners are all about the fun, you know that.

Phone a scrappy and ask them for one, give you some thing to practice on before you improve your own.

I thought you were allowed to do 60mph in a van?

In a car derived van under 2000 kilos Mgw then yes, otherwise 50 on a national speed limit 60mph single carriageway road. I just forgot I was in the van, and they don't do the optional speed awareness course up here either, just points on your licence. Gutted, 25 years of behaving myself and one slip and I get gubbed. No excuses just have to take it on the chin I'm afraid.

Raging with myself though, especially being as I had only just left the lay-by before after having a half hour kip cause I was tired, got up to speed with the traffic and put the cruise on. Feel like ****, my poor licence will have a dirty mark on it :(
