VW production delays

Featured Replies

Some models are currently 24 weeks.

That's just ridiculous

Judging by the expression on Mr Volkswagen's face:-

. . . . that's one supplier who won't be having their option renewed.

Meanwhile, prices will go up so that Mr Volkswagen can afford to pay Mr Bosnian supplier whatever's finally negotiated.

Longterm, that's a shed load of new business coming the way of the contractors who supply the South American subsidiaries.

Postscript

I should think this will rationalise the market participants in the market that the Broadspeed's of this life operate.

Only if there's any out there. Judging by the hours spent with dealers yesterday looking for GTD/ R/ VRS available from stock, it ain't much.

An A4 Quattro looms ever larger, more well spec'd examples of those in the system than everything else put together.

Agree with you ,my local VW dealer had a lot of Golf Rs, GTDs GTIs ,in the stock, of the near new ,high spec and demos very few are left.

My mate, who had a very high spec Golf R  ordered in early July, was told before the strike issue, early Sept deliver > then wk 38 now > wk48 but the dealer is not sure if that will happen.

Apparently the boss there has said that his Group sales are now being impacted quite badly.

And vag are being quite clever by having offers where to qualify the car must be delivered, which means that you have to mop up all the stock cars the dealer network are sitting on.
