Damp in drivers side footwell

hi, have noticed a damp patch in the drivers side foot well over the last few weeks, mainly concentrated where your heel would be under the clutch pedal.

Has anyone had this issue, and any suggestions as to where this water ingress would be coming from? reading up on it, it could be from the door, the plenum chamber or somewhere else.
