Good evening ladies and gentlemen,

 

Well, I've been the proud owner of a Mk. 1 VRS for the last six years, and she's been by far one of - if not the best - cars I have ever owned. Bought on a '51 plate for the princely sum of £2,500 in 2010, I have driven over 100,000 happy miles in her. I have had a few problems, but doesn't everyone on a car of this age - however she's never actually let me down or left me stranded.

 

With a JKS stage one tune and a few other underbonnet bits, she can still even now lift up her skirt and embarrass even modern machinery. But, with the space and practicality to be a brilliant all-rounder too. What fabulous cars these are!

 

However - some gearbox problems are rearing their ugly heads lately, and so, with her showing her age cosmetically now too, I have been on the hunt for a worthy replacement. And so, it seems that I will be joining you guys around here very soon!

 

I have put down a deposit on this beauty - I am smitten already and I haven't even taken delivery yet! She's a two year old petrol VRS, with a manual box - because we all know that Diesel engines belong in lorries and DSG boxes are for wimps, right?! Seriously though, I had to have this combination for the driving pleasure....however it has taken me a long time to find a decent low miler, in the spec I wanted, at the right price - but this one fits the bill for me. Colour included - everyone knows that red ones are the fastest, that's right isn't it?

Welcome. Just by way of comparison, my 63 plate TDi vRS (DSG) estate is coming up to 3 years old now and its GFV is £12,000 for June next year.

 

They're both (the diesel / petrol in either DSG or manual) great cars.

Nice.  I like Corrida red, and the black pack suits it well.
