Maxidot error messages and airbag warning light

Hi all,

Looking for help with some error messages I have been getting - cant find an answer in the forum:

This started whilst driving, an 'Error Brakes' message appeared on the maxidot with a loud warning tone before disappearing (no warning lights). I 'tested' the brakes and they were working fine. This continued for a few days, but only when driving round sharp lefthand bends. This then stopped altogether.

About a week later when starting the car a error message appeared 'Brakes - visit workshop' and the engine would then cut out. This happened  2-3 times until the final time an error message appeared 'Error - Airbag' which then disappeared (not cutting out the engine). The airbag warning light also comes and stays on. This happens every time I start the car.

The brake pads were changed a few months ago, but the irregularity of the messages makes me think it may be more of a connection problem?. This is a Octavia II 62reg CR SE 1.6 TDI.

Any help or advice is really appreciated before I take it to the garage!
