It's a 2.0t with 300bhp and is certainly not a diesel... if only diesels could sound like that though...

Can anyone explain what that chirping/squeaking noise is coming from the car? I can't decide if it's brakes/abs or what? You hear it from all rally cars as they're diving into hairpins...

I believe its the dump valve (re-circulating type not vent to atmosphere) my GTiR used to make that noise with its standard valve, though not quite as loud or quite as often!!

That'll be it, its basicaly just a really complicated dump valve arrangement that keeps the turbo spinning nice and fast. (considerably more complicated than a dump valve really, but not being a pro rally mechanic I dont know how or why!)

Anti-Lag works by chucking petrol into the zorst system, when you back off the throttle, and igniting it to keep the turbo "On Boost" So when you floor it there is no lag!

Thats why Rally cars pop, bang and spit flames on the way into corners! The chirping I think is a combination of DV and a ligntning fast wastegate actuator!
