Bluetooth hands free VRS

Featured Replies

My Mk2 Fabia vRS had Swing Radios and there was Bluetooth as factory fitted.

Do you not have it anymore? Mine also has a swing radio with Bluetooth from factory. I thought all cars came with it actually. Seems like these cars were pretty poorly equipped at standard trim level!

No i do not have a Twincharger anymore as a daily driver but i have one tucked away for when they become a classic.

SWING Radio.

If i remember press the Media button and if there is Blue tooth there will be B-T showing.  (please correct if i am wrong... i often am.)

Yea no option for blutooth or phone. Just aux. I really would have thought all vehicles came with it now. Particularly the top spec VRS. Hey ho. Might pull the unit out later this week and have a look what is plugged in behind...once I've got the H&R springs on (priority) lol

Mk2 Fabia vRS were not top spec though that was an Elegance.

No Front Fog lights as an example, not even as an option.

They were just Skoda using the Twincharger Engine & DSG and then an assortment of parts & a very basic model and many things were options, quite expensive options.

Ahhhh ok yea. Well whoever ordered mine new thought that keeping their arse warm with heated seats was more important than using a mobile phone lol

Lets talk warm ar53s.

Not safety critical obviously for Skoda, unless there was a fire or someone gets burned, then it is.

If you have heated seat check if they were ones that needed service campaign work to change the element or switch.

Depends maybe on age of car.

If nothing shows as outstanding for actions, still check at a Main Dealer or Skoda UK Customer Services.

Hahaha that would be very warm. Yea have taken the car into the skoda dealer and they have checked there are no outstanding recalls. ;-)

Right so. Brought an Amundsen + with a gps antenna included and Bluetooth built in. Apart from a Bluetooth mic. Is there anything else I need ??

Had loads of help and info off member rustynuts mate but didn't mention the FAKRA. And I'm not sure if it has DAB be a bonus if it has

Won't need the Fakra adapter mate.

How come an adaptor isn't required?

Well, I presume it isn't because all the ones I've replaced have had the double antenna plug already. If it is required it'll be the first one I've come across on a Mk2 Fabia VRS Estate as they only started making them in 2010, after the swap over from the single antenna setup.

All good then - I shall edit accordingly :)

Sorry no, it doesn't have DAB I'm afraid.

Cheers rusty. And how do you know it doesn't have dab. Is there a mysterious techy code that only techys know hahaha

No mate. I just looked at the picture of the back of the unit, and there's no DAB antenna connection. :p

Ah there we go then. I can do greasy stuff and I understand that. Car electrical things are not my forte. If it's colour coded and Each plug is matched then that's my kind of electrical. ????

Well the Amundsen is fitted and al the phone options and reverse sensors all work without VCDS'ing. What's that about haha

That means the Amundsen had a level of coding which allowed the functions to work on your car. Essentially, the car it came out of had the same setup as yours so the Amundsen knows how to deal with the signals it receives. However, your car still doesn't know you have a nav unit installed, so the car doesn't know to send certain other relevant data to the Amundsen, such as wheel speeds, steering angle readings to assist with gps navigation, and also the car might not display nav instructions on the maxidot as it's not expecting any such data.

You still need the unit and car coding correctly.
