iOS 10.0.1 problems iPhone 5

Featured Replies

Hi all, my mothers phone has developed a problem after downloading the latest update in her iPhone 5

It has suddenly turned extremely laggy, 5-10 second delay between swiping screens or closing screens...locking and unlocking seems to help but only for a brief amount of time

When I went to check it every time I tried swiping nothing was happening except strangely I was swiping the top of the screen but it seemed to think my finger was at the bottom of the screen ( you could see the pressure mark as if you were pressing there)

I've checked the storage and it has plenty of memory left, she also has an iPad and the update went fine, I have an iPhone SE and that also went fine

Is there a way to roll back the update?

I'd be more tempted to backup, reset and restore rather than roll back to an older system that's going to get increasingly obsolete as time goes on?

IOS 10.0.2 for a few days, managed to reduce my 5S's battery from 100% to 34% overnight, power cycling it seems to have cut that down a bit, but what are all the "enhancements" all about?

I've not seen an issue with my 5c with 10.0.2 or 10.0.1. If you go to settings and battery it should give you some indication to what is using the most power, it could be an app that is unhappy running in iOS 10.

Also interested to see peoples outcomes as my dad asked me to look at his as the battery is also draining very quickly too.

Will have a bit more of a look tonight.

My iPhone se seems fine 3-4 hours of google map usage only brings it down to about 60%

Since my mother downloaded .02 the phone completely died, went purple, wouldn't turn off or anything

Having said that I hadn't seen a problem I do think the battery is draining quicker. Looking at the battery use the culprit seems to the built in photos app at 33% in the last 24 hours having not even used it in that time, this is in comparison to the 4% used by the same app on iOS iPad.

Well I did the silly thing, I initially limited what everything non essential was doing, that made no difference which was expected as basically nothing was admitting using up the battery, that was when two days later I read that power cycling might sort things - as well as waiting a few days for the phone/IOS to sort themselves out - either way battery life is now back okay, just got to work out how many apps needs a bit for freedom than I've allowed them, to work well!

Now iphone is just working like a wifi phone and running the battery down like it did just after updating software, missed a call from MOT place and 3 whatsapp messages from wife, got the lot walking down the steps to my house 2 hours later when coming into range of the wifi router!
