I have done this, when it connects in rASP, it connects, if I leave the car and come back it doesn't show a phone signal on the maxi or on the phone, in normal BT it keeps searching, and if it does by chance connect, it wont let me answer a call using the wheel controls or by pressing answer on the unit, tried a note 3 and an I phone 5s tonight both paired instantly, BT unit number under seat 3C80035730E, could it be this that's stopping it ??????.

read my last post

It might be a bug on the phone.

Once you get out the car can you try toggling BT off and back on, then see if it works normally when you next get in?

Had the dealer try, because its a more modern phone, , they have sent off the info to Skoda to get a soft wear update.

I have an LG G4 running Android 6 (Marshmallow) connecting to my revision E BT module no problem in rSAP or HFP. Doubt it's software on the module.

Sounds more like a problem with the phone. Have you tried factory resetting it? If the other phones are connecting fine, then it must be an issue with your handset.

deny sim access to the BT unit, your phone will connect when used in the car and be on the network when not in the car

Tried that as well, once connected it works, if you get out the car and remove the key, it wont reconnect, and shuts down the network signal on the phone, so it can no longer receive calls

Imported Cat D from China...lol

I'm not aware of any updates for 3C8..E BT modules.

Does this mean that toggling BT on your phone to off then on didn't work?

I did none of that in my 2015, i just altered the PHONES bt settings

Indeed, losing rSAP functionally in the process.

My Nexus 5X had similar symptoms to the OP, it would connect correctly once but then never again. A temporary solution was after the phone had disconnected from the car, to disable BT on the phone and re-enable it. This would then allow the phone to connect properly when I next used the car.

I then automated the process using a free app called 'Trigger - Task Launcher' which worked flawlessly.

When Android N came out, I updated my phone and it now works without using Trigger to cycle BT.

Indeed, losing rSAP functionally in the process.

I dont know what that is but now i can make/take calls using MFD, access the phone book and phone stays network-connected when i leave the car

The ability to read SMS on the MFD and use the car's GSM antenna for better signal quality :)

Did I see Vauxhall now have a Facebook readout?

Took the phone back got a refund, then went to a second hand shop, bought a Samsung note 4 for £200, this connected instantly on both rasp and normal modes.

Having googled the J3 to death, they all say they don't or wont connect to any of the VW group BT
