Featured Replies

Hi all, its anoop from india, facing a trouble with my 2004 make octavia l&k 1.9tdi, as it crossed a bumpy speed breaker. In a sudden after the incident, the airbag light started blinking and it remains ON.  The diagnosis done so far is listed below.

#connected ross-tech tool,(genuine, working fine with all other cars)  not connecting. red light ON, In software k1 short to ground

#removed seat belt and connected , same results, red light :(

#replaced ecu, same error

#removed radio,same error

#removed climate control ,same error

#disconnected airbag module, same error!!

If anyone experienced the same problem or anyone with some knowledge about this please help me in finding out the fault. The ass of skoda is a pity here in india .

Regards

I suspect that your airbag g-force sensor "thinks" that the airbag has/should have activated as a result of the shock from the speed bump.

As to clearing it, if I'm understanding correctly, you have an error with the diagnostics port which needs resolving in order to get the VCDS to work correctly.

Have you got an aftermarket Radio fitted? as that can cause problems with VCDS.

Oops just noticed you tried removing the Radio.

Some of the fuses in the dash fuse box are related to the ecu so you need to check them.

Thanks for your replies, happily announcing that the culprit was one of my headlight ballast. After removing that the car is now connected to the vcds now!!! :) The problem is with passenger side airbag , can't erase it, still the light is on , will update after physical inspection.

Anoop

(I played with that cross and tick mark in some of the comments without knowing what I'm doing, pardon me , namaste )

Since the airbag obviously hasn't fired, I'd suspect that the connector has come loose.

If you use the blue/grey "tick Like This" button to pick out replies that gave you useful advice, and the "Answered" one only if a specific comment gives you an actual fault resolution.
