Lol very good Ade. Just picked up on tho thread update.

Blimey fella you're nearly as bad as Oli for racking up the mileage for the first service !! Shocking.

Good that its getting some use as recent weather has been appalling.

Wanted to get it serviced before the weather really goes to crap and as I had pre-booked the 28th October it gave me something to aim for although I could have done without the 2-weeks it was away being fixed after its early failure but neither the dealers or me had any control over that.

I'll calm down once the service has been done and just take it out to keep the battery topped up as I'll be doing with the Harley as well :)

  • Well the integration of the Sena 10U Bluetooth  Communication System with the Shoei GT Air Helmet went well with no major issues or heart stopping moments, I've paired it with my current Garmin Zumo 3

  • how have you been testing it? Running around the garden? :D.

  • Thank you, I will have a read of this.

Yes, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for a kind winter, although we are usually pretty lucky in London :)

Not this time, can't even spell washed lol. The Harley is dirtier then the Sprint, I'll hopefully give them both a wash next week.

Did my brother's and my car today, started at 08:30 and finished at 15:30, so no time for anything else, still got the inside to do!

7 hours is easy done isnt it! A proper job takes time.

Mine needs doing again really. I'll probably book it in with who was ChrisRS when i get chance.

I miss his tips on the the forum, I don't know why he left

It's a long story, but they wanted him to buy a sponsor membership as he was doing members cars. He barely made anything off doing their cars and it wasnt worth buying such a membership so he said no. So eventually they ridded him.

Shame really as his advice was what made the detailing section worth reading and he's genuinely a nice guy.

I've used him a few times for the Fabia and my brother bought his dads car off him a few months back.

If you're ever up this way and want your car doing, let me know and i'll send you his number. :)

1st Service carried out today, it clicked onto 501-miles when I pulled into the dealers lol.

Got quoted approximately £70.00 to fit the Scottoiler which didn't sound too bad to me, so I'll get that booked in at some point.

Roll on 600-miles when I can increase the revs to 7k :)

Well timed!

It seems a very gradual and specific run in.

Bet you cant wait until thats done n you can ride it properly

Yes, Triumph put a nice little sticker on the tank, if I remeber correctly the increments are: -

0 - 100 miles max 3500 rpm

100 - 300 miles max 5000 rpm

300 - 600 miles max 6000 rpm

600 - 900 miles max 7000 rpm

Can't remember after that and I can't look as the bikes in a lock up garage about 10-minutes walk from home, next time I'm there I'll take a picture lol.

Yes, it will be nice to get the running in over and done with, although from now on in we have the "W" factor that will dictate things.

Ah yeah. I remember seeing that on the 1050 Sport i test rode. You need a sticker too as you'd never remember would you :D.

Shows how flexible the engine is though. 0-100 miles max 3500. Some bike engines wont even work until 3500 will they :D.

Hmm the W swear word :D. Its a pain. Gets in the way no end!

Lovely bike and underestimated by many.

When I saw one in metallic red in the dealers awhile back I thought it looked great and reminded me so much of my Sprint Executive in Volcanic Red which also had full matching luggage.

Pity they didn't bring the GT out earlier as I would probably have bought one but after a Tiger 1050 I didn't want to go back to a leaning forward riding position even though that on the GT isn't that extreme.

Had a test ride on one and loved it but not the leaning forward. Tried the Explorer and Trophy as well but not convinced.

I'm a big fan of Triumph triples and have a Thunderbird Sport and Mk. 1 Speed Triple as well (6k. on the clock!) along with the Tiger 1050 as well as some other bikes.

Only new Triumphs I like at the moment are the retro ones. Plan is to thin out some of the fleet and have a look at the new Scrambler.

I also like the T120 but it's the same kind of bike as the Thunderbird Sport.

Is the first service at 600 miles?

You'll soon rack it up. It adds up far too quickly haha.

Weather at this time of year is the bitch though, i agree. Very hit and miss.

I picked my Moto Guzzi Black and Gold Le Mans up in 1981 on the Saturday and booked it in for its 1st service on the monday , ( which was 300 miles ) I brought it in with 680, service department said its overdue, I said ive only had it 2 days! :D

Haa brill. All you wanna do is ride it isnt it :D.

I stopped riding the Tracer, cos the miles were adding up too fast :D.

I really like the original speed triple, is it a 900 in Black?

I did a weekends training with Avon & Somerset Police many years ago and there was a young girl on a black 750 speed triple that looked lovely, I don't think they made very many of the 750's though!

I did that on a ST1100 Pan European the dealer couldn't believe it when I was on the phone booking the 1st Service lol

Prykey - yes, it's a black one. I'm not normally a fan of black bikes but it really suits the original Speed Triple.

Along with the Thunderbird Sport it's the other classic Hinckley Triumph.
