Any advice on the MK3

Featured Replies

I have had skodas for the last 3 cars starting with he Mk1 VRS on a 2001 which is still going strong followed by the Fabia VRS twin charge and currently a 2012 Octavia VRS. I'm now ready to move to the MK3 diesel variant VRS and was just curious of anything good or bad I should be aware of. I am test driving the estate VRS over the weekend to return to the dealer on Monday. I'm not convinced at the moment that their will be that bigger difference with what I have got other than a load more gadgets and a far bigger spend. Any advice would be appreciated.

If yo are looking for a bigger change in style and gadgets then maybe wait until the facelift next year?

Assuming you can live with the new headlight design  :p

Thanks. I was unaware there was a new 2017 model on the cards I have just googled it and I see what you mean . Nice looking car but strange headlamps.

It will be very much like the face lift mk2. Better spec and different front.

Going from a mk2fl to a mk3, is it better? Yes. Is it work the 20k difference? No IMHO to upgrade if you don't need to.

I went from diesel to petrol due to my mileage was giving me dpf issues.

However from list price of the mk2fl to list price of the mk3, I think it's a better car overall.

As above might be worth waiting for that. Although you will be in the new VED rates so a diesel manual will be £140 a year over £30(?) Not that it really makes a massive difference

In wonder how much Price hike there will be between the current MKIII Octavia and the new one due out soon.

Quite a lot I would think and I've heard there will be a limit on the Engine choice/bhp.  One of the reasons I've opted for a 230 Vrs

Dunno, I heard the new VRS is 245PS

Can't believe all you hear I guess

New one will be 245, seen some dealer material on it.
