Fabia to Octavia VRS

Featured Replies

Evening,

Earlier on this year I was asking a few questions regarding a Octavia VRS. I'm glad to say I've had one for a week now, finally found the ideal car for me. I had a Fabia Monte Carlo 105 TSI for 4 years.

I got a 1 previous owner 63 plate 2.0TSI DSG, 20K miles, full Skoda dealer service history and lots of extras. I'm extremely happy with it. Never had a car like this before and its fantastic.

Can I ask some advice though...

1. The DAB isn't storing the radio logos, I have selected the option for this in the settings but still now showing. Am I missing something? Not a big deal but just was wondering if I had missed something.

2. The button when you floor the accelerator, what is this for? I've only tested it once and it revved stupidly to the limiter and then decided to change up.

3. Sometimes the LED lights on the climate control don't light up when say selecting fan speed 2, but its works from 1/3/4/5/6/7/8. The fans spinning but the middle fan adjuster dial with the lights on it. Its like small square individual lights in a half moon crest, hope you know what I'm on about. Is this normal?

I've had a quick scan through the books but couldn't find anything. Some of you that have owned Octavias for longer may be quicker to answer these questions for me. Cheers.

Welcome to the 2.0TSI club

With number 1, I think you have to import the logos via a USB or SD card!

2) I can't help with.

3) is the heater fan speed, I get this in my vRS too, but if you try adjusting the temp lower so it says (Lo) you will notice fan speed 2 will light up but not on all temp settings! I've also wondered about this too & I have my setup setting set to strong, I get the same thing as you but I'm sure its fan speed 3 for me!

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the answers, I thought the logos would pull through with it being a DAB. To be honest Bluetooth is going to be used 99% of the time anyway from the iPhone.

I must say what a car, the 2.0TSI is a engine! Loving it.

The "button" when you floor the accelerator will be for the kick down on the gearbox. You'll probably only notice its effect when you're cruising and then floor the accelerator to overtake/have a blast.

The DAB radio should hold most station logos but not all. For the ones I was missing I simply searched Google Images, downloaded them and then ensured they were no larger than 500 pixels x 500 pixels before assigning them to the stations from a USB stick. They've not disappeared since.

Fan speed indicator light will not light the speed that the auto setting would select.

Thanks for answering these questions for me.

All makes sense now.

1 more small question - the touch screen on the Columbus responds on its own during the freezing cold in the morning. Is this normal? I've had a search and it seems it's to be expected when the car is freezing inside?
