Panoramic Roof

Featured Replies

Earlier today I had the roof open mk3. Wen I went to close it, it wouldn't shut properly. It would just stay open a little. Tried 4 ages to shut but no joy. Was going to go to dealer and as i was going down the road and I was messing about it just closed. Seems it doesn't like being closed wen the car is stopped but works ok wyn the car is going.

Will book the car in but I Wondered if anyone had amt ideas?

Something in the runners that blew out whilst on the move?

Its not like there is anything on the runners it seems that wen the switch is in the closed position the roof is opened up at the rear

I've had it when I have gone to close it and stays tilted or when you use the fob to close and the tilt closes then opens.

Seems hit and miss will mention it when it goes in for its power boot struts replaced.

Yes that's it

And just when you get ready to ring the dealer ........ it closes  :D

Mine did that once last summer.

But after fiddling with it, it decided to behave. Havent happened since.

Can it be something like with windows, where you need to hold the button to relearn the one touch closing/opening?

Had this issue last month with the panoramic room that when sometimes closing - it would then go to tilt position. Visited the dealer and the tech did a 're-calibration' (seemed to know exactly what the issue was). Said if it kept playing up they would need the car for a day but has not happened since.
