19" x 8.5J - ET47 with 235/35/19 on lowered facelift VRS Hatch?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Looking to see if anyone has any experience with 19's on a Facelift VRS?

I've bagged an absoloute bargain set of OZ formula HLT in 19" x 8.5J - ET47 with 235/35/19 Michelin Pilot Super sport tyres

The car will be lowered on Bilstein B12 in the next few weeks which gives a mild drop of 20-30mm.

I'm a little concerned as on my previous S3 8P and RS3 8P I had a set of 19x8 ET44 BBS CK and they would catch at the rear a little with the same 235 Super Sports, not sure if the Octavia 1Z Facelift is going to be any different?

Anyone got any first hand experience?

Cheers!

I'm running 9x19 ET 45 with 225/35/19 on coilovers very low only issue I have is if cornering hard get a slight rub on the front, no problems with the rear.

You will get light rubbing on full lock to lock and hard cornering but nothing to worry about. I run 19x8.5 ET48 on a 235/35. How much did you find the HLTs for?

£750 with Michelin Super Sports

I found the addition of a stiffer RARB on my S3 and RS3 sorted a slight rub at the rear.     Where does yours rub do you know?

Also what suspension are you running mate?

I'm running AP Coilovers approx 65mm. You may actually be ok on your Bilsteins. I only run on hard full lock (just don't full lock) I'm not worried about it and it's not concerned any MOT tester.

Post some pics up when they are on. I've just fitted some BBS CH-R (again a bargain) I've had 8 sets of wheels on my 1Z.

I run 9 & 10j 19's et30 front et33 rear 215/35 front with no catching and 225/35 rear which do catch every now and again.

You should be OK if your not too low. The one thing I have found is that the arches on the octavia don't seem to be as forgiving as it's vag brothers so maybe a 225 might be a safer option.
