Garret GT1749VA turbo rebuild and compressor wheel upgrade?

Featured Replies

hey, I have an garret gt1749va from an old project of mine and I was wondering if anyone has rebuilt them with a billet compressor wheel? If so is it worth doing, what kind of power did you make when remapped and most of all what wheel did you use? any help and advice would be much appreciated!

cheers, Tom

I have had this done professionaly by bayliss turbo they put in a billet 36.3 49mm wheel with extended tips and was flared out to 52 mm . its an 11 blade wheel so spools really fast with 360 bearings .quote Ali from Brum wraps ask for Lee or Scott.you can see my wheel its posted up under turbo on performance upgrades I use the name Giro

do you have compressor map, please?

I'm looking for suitable turbo replacement while keeping stock...DPF and so on.

Hybrid VNT17/22 would be great but USA logistic and returns would be pain in ass.

Bayliss should be able to do this for round about 350 pounds its very good price they also give a 2years warranty which indicates they are confident in their product..my car is is running 233.17 bhp on a 1752 which is decent for local driving and motorway.
