Too many miles

Featured Replies

I reset the clock after the hour change and noticed that the next service schedule was 724 days or 32200 miles whatever comes sooner. The car was serviced last week on variable servicing so I was expecting the display to show 20000 miles not 32200. As 32200 miles is too many before an oil change I may have an interim oil change. Any thoughts?

20,000 miles is very close to 32,200 kilometers ;)

Ahh! I will keep an eye on actual mileage and see if it decreases in proportion to the service miles on the display.

You can have an oil change whenever you want. When the service comes up on my car, I just reset it as most of the time it doesn't make sense from one day to the next.

How do you reset it? My model is not maxidot and does not have the little wheel to turn, only the two buttons with the icon of a book (left button) and couple of zeros right button).

I don't know about your model. Have you looked in your handbook to see if tells you ?

The owner's manual says the buttons are used to reset the service interval but no instructions on how to do it. Also variable servicing has to be reset by computer according to available info, as the buttons are for fixed service intervals resetting. All kept secret by the dealers so Joe Public cannot do it.

Not a lot you can do about then, unless you know a member who can do those things.
