Fabia VRS miltek exhaust

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone has a miltek exhaust fitted to there vrs?

ive just ordered the cat back system. I was going to buy the sports-cat as well, but that was more expenisive than the the whole cat back system.

Anyway i just wanted to hear some feedback on it, whether its too loud for some people or too quite ect or any other problems / complications. Any positive feedback would be apreciated too.

Cheers,

Big Dan

All positive here.

I have one and I absolutely love it! On idle and normal Sunday driving you can hardly hear the difference - it's different but not much, that's until you floor it. It's not too loud like a Subaru for example but it gives a nice deep tone when you give it some beans, even better when you hear the dsg farts which happens more in manual than in D/S mode.

Certainly makes me smile when I decide to open her up and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Be sure to stand behind the car when it gets installed and gets fired up for the first time, I had a big grin like a kid at Christmas... Then again I'm only 25...

Edit: it's a shame you didn't post this last week I was in fleetwood at the weekend, could of had a quick meet so you could of had a listen.

Ah nice one. Thats what i was hoping it would be like, not stupidly loud like a 1.2 corsa with a fart cannon on the back of it but still loud enough to give it a decent engine note and grumble. Looking forward to getting it bolted on and listening to it start up.

Where abouts are you located we could always sort a meet out, theres some other guys i was talking to in a northwest forum on here who would all be up for meet.

You'll love it I can assure you.

My old man takes his caravan to windy harbour every other weekend so we just go down for a drive really, I'm living in Oldham but don't mind driving. Let us know if you organise a meet.

nice thats decent price where abouts is ADE tuning ?

Did you take yours into skoda with oil consumption issuses and did you have to pay for the modifications to be done or did skoda do it under warrenty ?

Ive been looking into the oil jet squirter and breather pipe mod becasue my vrs is using so much oil and its the CAVE engine too.

Hi Dan

ADE tuning is in Lower Darwen Near Blackburn, only place i know round here thats fits a milltek AND does a remap.

Had to pay skoda £500 in the end. I got £250 knocked off but only after some donkey work with the manager and an oil consumption test.

I am a cave 2010 im on 35K miles all short journeys. I will run in the skoda fixes for 300 miles i was using 1/2 litre every 300 miles.

If all is good at 300 miles then im gonna do some mods. Im not gonna max out the 'remap' but they dyno run it first & custom tune it.

Im worried about cylinder 3 as previously had plug 3 coil pack 3 need replacing,  but i have now asked skoda to put in my uprated spark plugs to Denso's (after some good advice by 'goneoffski' on here)

Nice i might give them a look , not to far away from myself.

Yeah im in a similar situation to what you was in, allthough mines a 2011 but still around 36K on the clock. My oil usuage is similar to yourself allthough really does vary depending how i drive.

How much would skoda charge for just the oil test , if i could show it them first maybe they might knock the price down like they did with yourself.

And yeah ive just bought a set of denso iridium plugs after being recomended them by a few people on here.

You'll have to let us know if the work skoda has done makes a diference on your oil usage.

@ Dan the oil consumption test was £75 for me. You could insist on just paying for the mods (without the £75) I had already paid £400 for service, so i think they felt they owed me something.

Will update on the oil but i only do 300 miles a month

@Offski

would putting a milltek cat back on be safer without a remap?

Edited by Kobayashi

IMO yes.

The exhaust will do no harm, and get a Dyno done and see what output you have.

See where you are before having a remap.

The latest Skoda Software update is good if that is what is now on your ECU. it should be with the new Oil Spray Jets.

?

Is that 5w 40 FS Havoline Ultra they put in?

Edited by Offski

Yes Bulk Havoline ultra but it could also be 5w -30? im not sure will ask them when i pick it up.

So how much would parts and oil consumption test cost ?

Do your own consumption test it costs nothing. Other than topping up oil.

Have 3.6 litres of oil in, if you use lots it is using too much oil.  Its simple really.

But if i was going to get the cost of work done by skoda to sort the oil ussage issue would they not have to conduct the test to prove wether there is a problem or not ?

Do you have an Oil user?

Best get that sorted out if you have rather than tuning and modifying.

There are various posts with the cost of having new Oil Spray jets fitted.

Others need to say if its worth it on a CAVE, personally i doubt it, but then those that have had it are best to comment.

But if i was going to get the cost of work done by skoda to sort the oil ussage issue would they not have to conduct the test to prove wether there is a problem or not ?

Initially I asked about just doing the Oil jet squirter mods being done whilst my £400 service was being done & I was sent down the consumption test route. What they didn't tell me was that there is a 2nd part to consumption test that is also another £75. I disputed this with the manager as I said why couldn't do they do the mods I asked for without having to pay £150 to find out something I already know!

That's why its on my bill above as 62.50 (minus VAT?). If you minus that and take your own oil (they wouldn't let me as we already agreed on £500 by then)then the parts cost and labour is about £630

Also forgot to say originally I was promised some goodwill, then found out the GOOD WILL ended 5 years from the Registration date.of the car.....

Yours is 1 year newer than mine. After a meeting & presenting some facts to the manager, he agreed on £500.

Yeah i definetly have an oil usage problem, oil warning light is coming on at least once or twice or a month.

I want to get oil jets and possibly this breather mod fitted but i was trying to find out what the possibility of skoda potentially sorting it or reducing the cost of sorting it.

Also just wondering , i was recomended shell helix ultra 0w30, so ive bought some. What do you reckon to that oil ?

I reckon you will be putting as much in as you were with 5w 30 FS Long life.

  • Author

Ah yeah i know that , i mean like have you heard much about helix 0w30 being any good as it says on the shell website its supposed to be a high performance oil.

Ive always used 5w30 so just wondering if it will make much differnce with anything

  • Author

nice one cheers mate, yeah i definetly wanna get it sorted. Im planning on throwing quite abit of money at the fabia so i dont want a problem like that really.

Best to get oil issues sorted first. We may have good CAVE's that just use lots of oil (short journeys for me) with bad OEM spark plugs (best Case scenario)

Worst case for me is cylinder 3 is getting worn? Impossible to tell without further analysis.

I was gonna put a normal exhaust on at Skoda as mine carbonised but they wanted £250 extra.

For the price at ADE tuning for Milltek seems worth it even if I only get 6 months to 1 year out of this engine.

I think they are same price on Ebay without fitting so it is good deal really.

I wouldn't worry about performance oil with a standard Twincharger i would rather give it the oil that protects the engine and does not get wasted with excessive oil use.

Asda VW 502 00 spec 5W 40 does the job as do other 5W 40 to VW 502 00.
