wiring fault were to look first

Featured Replies

ok so car is running ruff epc light on had it checked and been told it has a wiring fault by vw,dont wont to pay them to find it as it will cost to much.there is no throttle and limp mode, but they said it is defo a wiring fault and not the pedal or throttle body,as i thought,i have heard of some other people who have looked at it and have said the same.so does any one have any idea as to were to look for the wiring fault or were they are common for a break in the wiring some were, was told to check the ecu to throttle and ecu to pedal for breaks.unless any one else has any idea were to look before i start to find it

My brother had a similar fault on a Seat a few years ago and it turned out to water in the ECU.

I've been told injector wiring looms are prone to failing ....that will cause rough running

there was a common fault "so SUK said" where the loom goes round a 90deg bend at the front right side of the body, the cables in this go to the engine and on to the crankshaft speed sensor (I had this fault, fixed under warantee) gives all the symptoms you describe.

Is there someone with VCDS near you to have a scan?
