Confusing Fuse Panel Fabia VRS MK2

Featured Replies

Just took the Fuse Panel off and took out what i thought was fuse 23 for replacing boot light,

But then the car would not start! I have put back and all is OK!

My Book Manual is at home and need to do this in daylight, but the the sticker on the Fuse panel diagram (VW) (SKODA) runs opposite to what mine actually is.

Does anyone have Image of correct orientation Fuse diagram anywhere, thanks

No problem. Print it out and stick it to the inside of the cover?

Even better I am gonna to print the name of each function over the top of the number when i get to the manual tonight.

Getting a camera fitted soon with halfords so dont want them to mess it up either!

#31 shows as 'lambda probe' 10amp

Should no's 25 & 27 be blank what are they?, When i was messing about i think i muddled some up. Also Should no 30 be 20 amp?

If this is correct i have got them back to how they were!

from page 197

#25 just if you have Seat Heaters.  Not assigned #27

&

#30 power consumer,

20amp  ignition,

Fuel pump 15 amp

Cruise Control system, operation of PTC relay 5 amp

Nice to see Skoda has the fuse box inverted, just like 6C Polo, Seat with the 6J Ibiza managed to get the fuse box the right - or logical way up!

I think I pulled no 30 out!, I have also named them plus thought i would try out the gallery feature. see what it prints off like at Work.

Possibly unnecessary, but a nice addition would be to shoehorn the fuse value (number of amps) into each box of the picture too.  (Check that the values listed in the manual are actually what are in your car first, and investigate any discrepancies via current-flow diagrams - I may be able to help if necessary there).

This is whats in my Car until i print the red one. I am checking off the fuse's one by one. Weirdly no.10 is blank on the VW version. On the skoda red version it is air con. Now i dont have a fuse there, but the air con actually does work.

Also no.6 is reverse light, I dont have fuse there! This is my reverse light it does work buts very small and only 1 side (which i think is normal) so how can it work when no fuse there??

No fuse no.6 Reverse Light:?

Do you know the build date of your car? I mean the exact date, not just the year.  There are different wiring docs for before and after March 2010, and variations within each.

The earlier one suggests that fuses 6 and 10 should be absent (as does the owners manual version "Fabia anglicky 05.09"). At a guess, I'd say your car was built before March 2010?

The later doc suggests fuse 10 is reversing light etc. but only from November 2010?

Hi again

First date of registration car 25 September 2010, i must be on slightly different diagram then. I want to get this right diagram sorted as taking car to Halfords soon for front camera fitting wired to battery.

Sorry not an answer to anything in this thread, but more a general question to you Wino, I'm guessing that you have created an account with Erwin and using that to get the correct wiring diagrams for cars?  I've just bought a Haynes workshop manual for Polo 6R 2009>2014 though I intended to use it on an Ibiza 1.4 SC 2009 and Polo 1.2TSI - not ideal but better than anything I have to hand so far, thing is, Haynes, and I probably knew this from the past, do not include power steering wiring, ABS wiring or SRS wiring in their diagrams, so really I need to go and get some official wiring diagrams for that so that I can move forward with a battery drain issue on the 2009 Ibiza!!

I suppose that I'm asking if Erwin is relatively easy to navigate and dump diagrams - or do you have any tips for a first time user?

Ta!

Edit:- so far I've worked out, on the 2009 Ibiza, that the fuse links on the battery are SA1 > SA7   fuses in the main box are SB1 > SB58    fuses in the small box beside the battery are SC1 > SC6 .

Hi again

I'd guess any official diagrams will pertain to the car's VIN and not its date of first reg.

Edit:-  I seem to remember seeing a VIN versus production dates break down somewhere years ago, and not just "model build year".

Another Edit:- this info used to be part of "CAR DATA" a summary of build that you could request from your dealer's parts department. (yes, I've just checked the CAR DATA printout for the 2009 Ibiza and it quotes "Date of Production 06.10.2009" )

Registration date might be some time after build date, as above. Not sure the easiest way to find build date. (Though full car data from erWin or friendly dealer parts man would do it.)

@rum4mo, yep erWin is my source, one registration covers all the variants I've tried; Skoda/VW so I expect it will do Seat too. Finding the current flow docs isn't too hard, and downloading everything you want within a 1-hour paid session should be no problem unless your broadband is very limited.  Navigating the documents themselves is more of a challenge and requires practice and creative use of 'ctrl-F' as for example Mk2 Fabia from March 2010 is a 4600 page pdf...

The equivalent (hardcopy) document for my Mk2 Golf is 20 pages!

Wino, thanks for that - I've always just put off doing that - until now, so I'll give it a try, BB speed should be okay, netbook with Win7 updated to Win10 will be the throttle point I'm afraid - but there is always wife's Vista laptop or her ipad!

Well 2 items wrong is'nt so bad, I will stick with this red diagram for the panel, its a marked improvement on the VW one!

Actually just noticed another one no.46 anti theft alarm system, no fuse there either

BUT a few weeks ago i heard the alarm first ever time.

Reason i locked the missus in car whilst at post office (out of habit) and she must have been shuffling about as when i came out alarm was going like crazy. First time i heard it ever in 4 years!

I think No.54 is your alarm.

If you look in the Service Book that came with earl Mk2 FL's you will see the Service Schedule shows the Alarm Siren as due to be changed at 5 years.

  • Author

Yes Anti theft is listed as 54 as well start stop instrument cluster. Some must be dual use (1 or the other) then gets moved depending on what options you have.

What gearbox type does your car have? Fuse 10 may be only for manual boxes.

  • Author

DSG but can go into manual using paddles only.

  • Sponsor

I think the electronics controlling the DSG will also operate the reverse light, rather than a traditional physical switch on the box, so fuse 13 or 55 will cover that.

Where did you get your fuse labels from, your copy of the owner's manual? What's the date on the last page of that? Should say "Fabia anglicky NN.NN" where Ns are numbers.
