Order Wait Time

Featured Replies

Another update on my missing Yeti L & K from the dealers yesterday, it apparently finally left Emden on Wednesday and should reach Port of Tyne by the weekend, seems a fairly slow crossing! The car was ordered mid October, built just before Christmas and then left parked at Emden until Wednesday, a lot slower lead time than I was expecting, still looks like early February before I'll actually have it.

The car won't be bobbing about on the North Sea for all this time. The period covers the period between the car entering the 'bonded' area at the department port, to clearing customs on arrival.

  • If it was still at Grimsby yesterday you may be able to see it here :sun:

  • Sounds like the same story as mine - Red 1.2 DSG Monte Carlo that's slipped to WK49. I was told when I ordered it that it was part of a production batch so I guess there will be a load of Monte Carlos

I was wondering how on earth it could possibly take that long to get across such a short crossing of the North Sea, the customs bit makes sense but not the fact that other people here seem to have ordered the exact same car as mine well after I did and already have their car! It seems fairly random and my car was ordered through a main dealers and not a third party, the Octavia arrived within 2 weeks of leaving the factory by comparison.

My car is finally at the dealership and it's now due to be delivered on the 1st March.  Thought I might as wait the extra 2 weeks for the new 17 reg.

So overall wait is 1 day short of a full 6 months.

I better order my next one a year before this one's lease is due to end.

Six months is a bit excessive! My car which I'm picking up on March 1st, will have taken about 4.5 months to get but like you I chose to wait in the end for the new registration.

Outdoor SE L Drive 1.2Tsi with added rear-view camera and retro-fit spare wheel took 12 weeks from emailed order form in November to home delivery last week.
