Order Wait Time

Featured Replies

Hi all

I just wanted to know how long people who ordered a new Yeti waited for it?

I ordered 1 on the 1st September (on lease) and was told delivery would be Mid-December but now they have changed it to the end of February. So 6 months in all and as it's supposed to be a Winter car it's not exactly ideal timing.

In fact it's been so long that they no longer are selling the standard Yeti, with only the Outdoor now being sold.

  • Sounds like the same story as mine - Red 1.2 DSG Monte Carlo that's slipped to WK49. I was told when I ordered it that it was part of a production batch so I guess there will be a load of Monte Carlos

I think I waited about 12 weeks or so.

I waited about 17/18 weeks from memory for our 2014 Yeti. I seem to recall 40 weeks was a possibilty at one time.

Someone still posting claimed the record (anyone remember who it is?), but six months was far from unusual back at the beginning.  By my era (2012ish) it was five months except for stock cars.  As we said back then, "Good Things Are Worth Waiting For".

:)

Seems kind of variable really, I ordered a Yeti L & K also on lease in mid October, dealer originally said it would take between 8 and 10 weeks. They phoned last week and said that the car should be built in early January and then shipped to the UK, leaving a delivery date somewhere in the second half of January.

Of course now we have the usual forecasts for a hard winter, which is kind of when you would want to have a 4 x 4, so hopefully mine comes sooner rather than later!

I ordered mine on 11th September and had confirmation on Thursday that it had been built and to expect delivery at the end of this month or early December.

I had an already ordered Yeti, three weeks!

15 weeks May - September 2016

Ordered 1.4 L&K on PCH 20 Sept, was told build finished end of October, delivery "December".

I think I waited about 12 weeks or so.

Mine was 13 weeks, for non outdoor SE spec petrol DSG. Ordered 30th June from lease Co, delivered start of Oct.

If you are waiting 5-6 months, can you advise spec, engine and options, could be a specific option that is delaying it.

Our Yeti SEL 1.2 Dsg with toys was due 12th Nov based on 12 week wait. We collected it last week October.

Wow, all seems so variable even for those of us who have ordered in the last couple of months.

I was told 12 weeks when car ordered at the end of May, but only took delivery 8 Nov. A PCH deal, so not sure if they are a lower priority than retail sales?

Hard to say whether the fact that a car is PCH will slow down the time it takes to actually get it delivered to you but saying that, one thing became very clear when looking around at various different dealerships and makes of car recently and that was that car dealers on the whole really don't want you to take a PCH deal as the dealership only receives a relatively small payment for supplying the car and not the much larger figure that a dealership would expect to make on selling you a new car on a PCP type deal, plus PCH cars don't count towards their sales targets either and the commission that the salesman would normally expect to get from that deal too doesn't happen either. At one local Ford dealership the salesman that I spoke to denied any knowledge of PCH deals and said they only did PCP deals but funnily enough another nearby Ford dealership ran by the same company had a Mondeo sitting outside it covered in decals boasting about how cheap it was to rent on a PCH deal. Obviously, not in the interests of a salesman to push PCH if he can persuade the customer to take a PCP deal instead.

If you look at the national advertising for Skoda PCH deals from Skoda dealerships, most of that is coming from Simpson's Skoda, yet when I was arranging my Yeti PCH deal the Glasgow dealership were more than happy and able to do exactly the same sort of deals as Simpson's but they just don't want to make a big deal about it in case too many people decide to rent, rather than buy their new Skoda's.

It shouldn't take 2 months to get it to you after it's been build.  A 5-6 week build after order sounds very suspicious to me.

Please let us know on here when you do take delivery of it.  Thanks!

Thanks, that's very interesting.  I do think the supplying dealer has given my car to someone else and re-submitted a new order for my car as the 4 month timescale seems more normal. It would explain why my early December date got pushed so far back all of a sudden. I wonder how many sales Skoda lose due to these delays.

I just ordered a 1.2 Petrol Monte Carlo DSG in red with no options at all.  This is why I think they have given my car to someone else as it's a standard car.

Dont think it is 2 months more like 5/6 weeks, however original  mid-Oct email said:

"All going well the car will leave the factory in the Czech republic at the end of this month, It will then make it’s way by train to the port of Emden in Germany. Be shipped to the port of Tyne before finishing it’s journey by vehicle transporter."

Mid-Nov email says 3 weeks until delivery.

All well within the first 12 week delivery time quoted.

Hi guys, I ordered a yeti l and k today at Simpsons in Preston. I was in yesterday and test drove one. Was told 3 months wait but I got a cancelled order. So 3 weeks for me. Wanted a diesel but wasn't that bothered. Ended up with a jungle green 1.4 L & K. Can't wait.

"I just ordered a 1.2 Petrol Monte Carlo DSG in red with no options at all.  This is why I think they have given my car to someone else as it's a standard car."

Funnily enough when I was trying to work out which car to take on PCH, the dealership were really trying to push the Yeti Monte Carlo DSG model and there seemed to be quite a few of them available from stock at that time but I wasn't too keen on it being an automatic and white, think the red version was sold out, surprised they never offered you one of those cars from Skoda UK Stock but the extra delay doesn't really sound right it has to be said!

The red Monte Carlo with the black roof that I saw in the showroom looked pretty smart and had most things you could want on it but the L & K model just seemed better value given the extra equipment on it, even if I never use the half of it. Might be worth chasing the dealers again about the excessive delay in getting your car and maybe see if there are any Monte Carlo models left in stock at other dealers or in Skoda UK stock.

Zuulan,

I ordered a  1.2 Petrol Monte Carlo DSG in red with DAB added as an option on September 13th. I was originally given a build week of Week 46, this has been pushed back to Week 49 with delivery end of December (I am guessing with Xmas break it will more likely be early Jan). I'll be interested in hearing when yours arrives, so I'm not sure why you aren't on an earlier if not the same build week.
