Diesel fuel filter change

Recommended Posts

I have a skoda fabia 1.6 tdi cr and i wish to change the fuel filter. It is a sealed canister with 2 pipes on the top. If I clamp the pipes at the filter before removing from filter then fill the new filter with fuel and reconnect and undo the clamped pipes. will I get away with out bleeding the system. I am thinking of my hpfp.

thanks

In a nut shell, yes.

Aslong as you fill the new filter up properly, prime the system by cycling the ignition on and off a good few times waiting 5 seconds on each turn of the key, it will be fine.

as my engine is a TDI CR is turning the ignition on and off priming the system?

The old engine (non CR ) you could get away with this. I am unsure now!
