I have just replaced my broken screen bolero with an after market all dancing all singing radio and the controls on the steering wheel don't work .has anyone had this problem ,I suspect I have to connect some of the many extra wires but what do I connect to

Most likely the unit won't be compatible with your steering wheel controls, unless you're very lucky. I'd ask the seller first as they'd know what they sold you.
