DSG overheating

Featured Replies

First serious snow drive for my 280 4x4 and the gearbox overheating warning light appears.

Rang the dealer who was baffled and asked to check it over.

Warning light goes out on dry roads

faulty sensors?? Does the gear display on the maxidot thing flash or just a dash warning light?

Gear display on my last Octy vRS would sometimes flash, drive would go into neutral. Dealer didn't have a clue, wanted to replace ecu......only me looking on Youtube fixed it :dull:

Was you driving in deep snow with the TC and 4 wheel drive system taking a hammering ? or just light driving..?

Proper snow Saddleworth over Holmfirth to the Flouch

Overheating of the Haldex "clutch pack" is reported as a gearbox fault?  Dry road = minimal 4x4 and snow = lots of front/back torque switching

The Haldex system should easily be able to cope with those conditions. I drove through Holmefirth during the snow with my Octavia 2 Scout and the only things that kicked in were TCS and ABS...

Ok so I asked dealer to do a diagnostic check and no fault detected. Need more snow to test if the warning reappears.
