Roomster Launched

Featured Replies

Oh dear, do they have to release it?!

Like the front design, but the rest looks like a Yaris Verso and a Fiat Panda have been mating! :)

And what's going on with the different height side windows??

Steve

That'll be the next one for cab drivers then!! just wait, there'll be loads of em down your local rank!

Personally I think its hideous from the windscreen back! I wouldn't mind betting they do a van version too!

I could live with seeing the van version about TBH - as I wouldn't have to contend with those very odd windows!

Steve

A van would be cool - I just detest the side windows at different levels.

*sigh*

No doubt a new breed of jokes will be coming our way

I bet it sells like hotcakes though.

its differnt, .... looks odd rear looks kinda funky with the odd shaped side windows hmmmmmmmmmmm wait for it in flesh- i want a yeti!:)

Over 65's climb aboard the ugly pope mobile.

Yeuch

It could be a real success for a particular market segment, I have a pretty strong feeling I don't fall into their target audience for it though :D

Front & back look fine/good even, but the doors & windows look like a total mismash. It's like they tried to blend in the rear window & door as if the car stopped there, and then bolted on a bit of metal for the front door which was out by a good few inches at the top.

If they continued the line (curve really) from the front door's window to the rear and worked with it like that it feels like it would work better, but then the metal part of the front door still looks totally wrong. Hmm :(

I like that

Roomster vRS?

i want a yeti!:)

If they mess up the yeti from concept to production like they have this, l dont think you will want a yeti when it is launched:eek:

I loved the concept of the roomster .....but that looks more like a disfigured hampster Yeuck..... take it away matron

not keen on the shape at all. but then again could be for the "older clientelle". they have the "hot hatch " for the young un's sealed up with the vrs fabia and new octavia vrs. so time sort the oldies out. [ again ]. :thumbdwn:

At the risk of sounding like a girl, I like the colour...

Gross

I like that. :o

I can understand the shape of the front side window...link to concept. The rest of side windows look a bit strange but if it followed the lin efrom the front the rear most ones would be very small.

Doesn't Citroen C2 has different level side windows?

I'm with master opps I mean adrian, I like it too!

Skoda needs some extra models in the range, maybe even a 4x4 and/or people carrier.

i want a yeti!:)

I'm holding out for a Tudor with Audi's 3.0 V6 diesel, and maybe Haldex added :D

And  at Roomster vRS - that would be funny....

Steve

Is the roomster based on the hackney carriage floor plan?

  • 1 month later...

Its the Skoda version of the VW Caddy Life surely?? Somebody mentioned here a while ago that skoda will re enter the light commercial market in 2007. Quite clever in launching the car version first though.

JON

Oh I do like it though, but then I nearly bought a Kangoo Trekka instead of the Fabia a couple of years ago!!!

No it can

Read in the Skoda newspaper today that Roomster don´t share the platform with any other VW, Audi, Seat or Skoda. The front part of the chassis is the same that the new Fabia will have. The rear part of the chassis comes from Octavia 1. The middle part of the chassis is built for the Roomster only. Hope you understand.

did they release it or was it just allowed to escape......

It escape to Sweden and Stockholm motor show. I was there two days ago. I really liked the Roomster. Frontseat made for tall people. When I was in the backseat I had about 20cm between my knee and the front seat. I man from Skoda helped me pushing and pulling the seats and we talked about engines and gearboxes. It was the president for Skoda in Sweden so now I new that there will be a automatic gearbox for the 1.9TDI late this year. My Fabia RS had to go next year and perhaps it will be a Roomster 1.9TDI instead.

VW EOS is a very beatiful car and it has the 2.0TDI 140hp engine. Also petrol from 1.6 to 3.2
