Hello from new (to me!) Skoda Octavia TFSI vRS estate owner

Featured Replies

Hi.

Just purchased a 2007 Skoda Octavia 2.0 TFSI vRS estate with a whopping 131,000 miles on the clock !

But will full service history and just the one owner, along with the condition of the car I'm hopeful that it's got plenty more miles in it. I've noticed some of these cars doing 250K+ so mine has barely had it's mid-life crisis yet !

I'm not an expert on these cars (or any cars) bt from doing some research I believe they are fine with just normal 95 ron petrol and use 5w30 oil - If this isn't the case then any quick advice would be welcome !!

My first impressions are that it's a really nice car to drive, the gearbox is nice and tight and the sporty setup and seats of the vRS make it a pleasure to drive. I haven't done any 'spirited' driving yet but did notice on the way back from buying it that the fuel gauge does like to move quickly !!

Anyway I look forward to any comments and advice about the car.

cheers

Adrian

Welcome Adrian.  Yes, the key is to look after them well and you should get many more miles of trouble-free miles!

Thank you Freedom for the welcome and that sound advice.

I spoke to a friend yesterday who said it's important to use a higher level of petrol like Shell V Power. Is this the general consensus with this cars or do most people just use the standard unleaded?

Im using Shell v power i think is better and why dont you give some quality petrol to your car..Is gonna give you back good performance I think slightly better than normal petrol. And thats what we want no ;)

Thanks for the reply - I thought people had given up on my post !!

And yes I've tried to do some more research and it does seem these cars appreciate it the finer things in life like Shell V Power. I guess it's no different than me preferring a nice fillet steak more than an roadside café burger !!
