The stuff they should put in the brouchures

Featured Replies

So I've only had my car for about a month but I'm still being surprised by all the extra little 'tech' that isn't mentioned in the brochures which they really should include for geeks like me.

Not in any particular order

The other day I thought my tailgate was broken as it would not close despite pressing the button several times, until I realised I'd left the key in a bag I'd just placed in the boot, saved me being locked out of the car!

The car warms up so quickly on cold days, some reading later revealed it's down to a auxiliary/supplementary electric heater in the car.

Automatic dipping rear view mirror, fairly standard these days, BUT dipping wing mirrors as well!

Please add your own findings for cool stuff not mentioned in the literature.

Not sure whether this is in the brochure or not but I like the auto demisting windscreen, the system detects if there is mist on the screen and switches to demist automatically, this works for even small amounts of misting up.

This is entirely separate to the electric demist function.

Really?

How so? Mine doesn't, i don't think

I've seen the auto-demist function in the Climate Menu but not set it. Can't find any Aux/Supp heater option anywhere on my 2015 car so may be it came in shortly after launch?

Press the menu button on the heating controls, press the far bottom right settings button (a picture of gears) then you have two options, auto recirculation and auto demisting.

This is on page 85 of the Infotainment manual.

Only does this if you have the Tri-zone climate control.  It mentions it in the brochure.
