Might be an Idea Dave, on page 113 on the newer Manual it talks about the Navigation system

Just been to the Skoda manual download page,  there are multiple downloads and you should select the one appropriate for the date that your car was manufactured - there are 10 different versions for the Octavia III!

 

The version I have is the correct one for when MY Octavia was manufactured, but owners of an Octavia manufactured at different dates should download a different version which will have different content.

 

This explains the different page numbers as the note IS on page 192 of the latest version of the manual (for Octavias made after 11/2016) but is on page 113 of the version of the manual for Octavias made between 11/2014 and 05/2015 like mine.

Ive just tested it, but its not working.. no emergency brake lights and no warning lights when jou stop... byte 16 bit 1+2 is off in controler 09... my car is from 2013.. but i have no labels on that byte, maybe someone can look in the VCDS 09 contoler if one can see the setting?

Most times I brake I find the hazard lights flashing when I've stopped, just annoying turning them off all the time, didn't think it was anything flash

If the hazard lights switch on after braking, the system should be active.

After hitting a deer the other month in our 2016 Octavia Scout I can confirm the hazard lights did not turn on when I'd stopped. It was a full emergency stop from around 50mph. I'm therefore assuming the brake lights didn't flash but then it is quite difficult to check from the drivers seat  :D

 

I did however discover that the emergency stop turned the stop/start feature back on after I'd manually turned it off earlier in the journey.

You don't need to turn the Hazards off, as soon as you start to move again they will stop flashing.

No but it's hard looking innocent at the traffic lights when PC Plod pulls up next to you
