Headlamp Bulb Change

Featured Replies

I've never been happy with the dipped beam performance on my 2014 Spaceback TDI so thought it was high time I upgraded the bulbs. Clearly on this TDI the fuel filter bolts need to be removed and the filter body pushed to on side, easy enough  but try as I might I can't get the plug off the back of the bulb. Tried the other side and can't get that one off also. Fair to say there's not much room to get a decent pull on them. Has anyone any tips for pulling the plugs off? Thanks in advance

Have a look under the front wheel arch as there is a panel that pops out that gives you better(ish) access to change the bulbs.

Thanks for the tip, no mention of the panel in the handbook but I still can't pull the bulb connecter off. Turned it as handbook describes, jiggled it but still can't pull it off. Obviously is really tight. Access isn't great of course despite removal of fuel filter. Think I'm probably going to have to remove the headlamps.
