We know in City Commuting traffic away from the lights etc with traffic to your inside, traffic to the outside you accelerate as you need to, to go with the flow.

As to lifting off and coasting up to the lights, there is a time and a place and 8.30 am in the morning might not be the time.

Location location location.

?

Do you think Steph McGovern is an Eco driving kind of gal when not 'on duty' ? (ie not being filmed or no Black Box fitted to a car)

I think shes just got half an idea how to drive economically. The guy had no clue.

Looked alright in that black top though :D :D.

It is location location. Mine is supposed to do 51mpg combined and it will. But i have to be steady...

Journalists and sportsmen are some of the most expensive to insure for a reason.

There was quite a discussion about the program on FB afterwards about the articles in the program, especially the expectations of a second hand car costing £500. Things such as why didn't they pick up on the washer stalk and the big crack in the windscreen when looking over the car?

As for the MPG claims. well everyone knows that they are exactly that - claims - and obtaining them in real life is nigh on impossible

Representitive of the general public who have no interest in cars. Cant see past the end of their noses.

Its irrelevant though, he cant sell a car in an unroadworthy condition n thats it really (:

Very true, and apart from him saying that it had a week and a half test on it (which it didn't) he did offer to book it in for a test while on camera

Must re-watch the programme.

Interested in the windscreen crack,

i heard twice about a low loader i seem to remember, then there it was 'on a low loader'  with a digger, or was i on the bevvy again... usual then.

EDIT,

Not sure if that is the cracked screen at 31min 30 on iplayer, when the BBC Rogue Trader employee is using the key and not mentioning the steering column cowling or washer / wiper stalk.

On the low loader with a tractor and a digger even.

They did drive it from the sales pitch to the nearest petrol station - knowingly without MOT - and the hidden camera footage did show a crack in the screen. It was shown on the back of a low loader with two diggers being driven away for their "expert" to have a look over it. As for missing the wiper stalk, I suspect that was intentionally missed out of the sales pitch footage - they do like to make things appear worse than they are at the Beeb.

Aa but, they will have had a Pre Booked MOT so that was OK,  but then they knew or suspected the vehicle was un-roadworthy, so thats not good, because someone was covered by insurance to allow that driver to be driving a vehicle they suspected was un-roadworthy.

They also knew that the VED is not transferable, but just forget that bit.

Not worth pointing out to the general public.

That did confuse me.

You could tell who who was driving from what he said too.

I did wonder how they got around driving it on the road. Must if thought about it n covered themselves

Contact all relevent parties, including police and advise on what they were planning to do, where when etc and why. Get them on board to guve permission in the same way one goes about getting abnormal load transportation permits and/or road closures granted. BBC public liability insurance would have been extended to cover all parts of the filming as it is a corporate undertaking.

Who knows, there could easily have been escort vehicles planted around it in traffic, in a sort of rolling lane closure..

Ah but youre not looking at it in the context of the production... its not a crappy polo, its an industrial scale national scam that they are investigating one or 2 instances of under guise of random punters..

true that, and it should be road worthy shouldnt it.

But for £500... its not going to be a Continental GT is it :D :D.
