Picked up my VRS 230 Today!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

As titled, I collected my VRS 230 today from Lookers Skoda in Stockport. Fantastic service from them, cannot fault them at all.

I didn't buy new, it's a 65 plate (registered Jan 2016) VRS 203 DSG in Moon White, and has covered a whole 5k miles.

Ex demo, so it has the following :

Columbus Sat Nav

Adaptive Cruise (yet to test)

Lane Assist

Heated Rear Seats

Heated Windscreen

Memory Driver's Seat

And obviously the standard full leather, sensors all round, auto wipers / lights, android auto etc etc etc.

Absolutely love it! Taking me a while to get used to the DSG box as I've always driven manuals, finding S mode on the DSG a little too eager to hold onto gears, but really enjoying the care nonetheless.

My first modern car for a fair few years, and what a car! Not my first Skoda, that was a 2004 Fabia VRS which I bought off a fellow member, and later sold to another member!

Hopefully I'll be able to provide some useful input going forwards ... pics will come soon. As will a black vinyl wrap for the spoiler.

Welcome

Just put the DSG in normal mode D not S.

Yep .. that's what I've been doing, even in 'sports' mode.

To be honest I'd have loved Meteor Grey but this one came up at the right price and spec.

Use the paddles to ove-ride the DSG programming & try tweaking tne individual mode to suit your personal preferences....

We find that D + paddles as & when required works pretty well on all our cars.

S is good for showing-off at traffic lights & country roads if you want to waste fuel, but there is so much torque available at almost any RPMs

that there's no real need to run to the red-line all the time.

I had the Adaptive Cruise on a courtesy car whilst awaiting the arrival of my 230. It's not something I would have paid for, but must admit it was pretty cool . As for the DSG..It rocks once you get used to it...Auto normal/auto sport/manual/flappy paddles..You can drive according to your mood. Also, in sport mode, hit the vrs button, then choose 'individual' and set the car up how you want it..Yay :-))...By the way...PICS !!

I love the Acc! I will not buy a car without it again. Can drive for hours without touching a pedal.
