Like the glass sliding door we had to have new glass put in and I said to the glazier I wasn't all that impressed with the theory that it was a security door also.

It woudn't suprise me if someone had forgotten that US gallons are smaller than Imperial ones :D Fwiw, my previous C350 Cdi MB average a very respectable 42-44 mpg and I have a slightly heavy foot.

That's impressive, given the engine displacement. Would that be a mk1 W204 or the later face-lift model?

i had the face lift model (W204). It had the ubiquitous 3.0 V6 that MB stick into everything from the C Class to the S. Surprisingly 'chuckable' too :)
