Yeah...mine has the same, must be from factory and glass not cleaned properly...I've got the suction pad marks on the rear winssceeen too...jus need a deep clean with glass cleaner I think. Both only show up when misted up....

I've seen such ghost images 10 years later despite cleaning with all kinds of stuff. Very persistent.

Mine has done this last winter, i put it down glue or ink used on the build sticker when the car went down the production line.

It's there forever, no matter what you use on the screen it'll never disappear completely.

It isn't the glue though, you can see the strips where the piece of paper was stuck to the screen either side of the text.

It must be something to do with the screen when it is new.

Your car was valeted by the same people as mine. I wonder if that is someone Rainworth use?

Advertising sticker removal should be mandatory  :D

As far as I know Rainworths have a Large building on the same retail site as their Dealership and all the cars are Valeted/storded under cover until they needed for Delivery/Handover to the customer.

Just spoken to the dealer and Rainworths use an outside Valeter  " Motorclean "

They think its a common problem. There is no residue on the Glass just this gostly immage when the screen mists up

It's a Talking point and I'm not duly worried

Could it not be a component of the ink touching the screen? It cant be in the screen so it must be residue of some description, unless its deliberate anti theft marking.

I always remove the rear screen stickers, especially as they overlay the rear heated screen elements, there are still the new number plate adverts, but at least there are no road tax holders on display.

Dammed annoying that, not seen the sticker before.

I have the dreaded sucker marks on SWMBO's Citigo side windows, my Golf SV rear window and they were present on my old Golf R's side rear windows, no amount of cleaning with all types of cleaner solutions would remove them.

Every winter the mist appears on the windows, out pops the bloody Olympic rings :(

I've seen this so many times on new cars, although not as bad as Goldfingers, and it is only when the inside of the glass begins to mist up.

It's always related to when the car was manufactured, i.e. temporary production line stickers and sucker marks etc.

This was what led me to thinking there is something about the glass when it is new?

Not on my vRS, but had it on my then new 12 plate Ibiza FR. Assumed it was from the factory and imprinted from journey over, although how is a complete unknown

Don't think it's the Ink as only the ink would show. You can see the white paper on the screen as well, no idea what causes it.

Don't think anyone does.
