Yep you are right!!

Not my cup of tea but each to your own.

It may be a short term fix but in the long term I suspect it will cost you more, using the other wheels for only 1 year will only use part of the tread if you do average miles. May as well just buy the right size ones.

4 of these will cost you £200 - http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/reifenbestellen.pl?typ=KH_5504&dsco=10

4 of these will cost you £230 - http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/reifenbestellen.pl?typ=R-116532&dsco=10

and 4 of these will only be £ 160 - http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/reifenbestellen.pl?typ=R-106013&dsco=10

I've ran 15" with 205/50 tyres and they work a treat, very cheap tyres and good for track days. Will look very odd on a non lowered car though.

Even better, try the 195/50/15 tyre size, lower profile (standard on a 2 litre), and if you want stupidly good grip, use Falken tyres (ONLY THE ST115 Azenis range, the rest pretty much suck!). 205/50 ain't so good because the weaker sidewalls contribute to more roll on the bends.

195/50 would be the correct size for a Fabia.

My winter tyres are 195/55/15 (Bridgestone Noranzas). Reason for such a size is simply money. 205/45/16 would have been very expensive. My 195'ers cost 360
