What do you all think?

Its mainly used for satnav atm, but when i replace the HU its going to be a 40gb mp3 player with a touchscreen interface for itunes :)

VERY flash mate. Have a feeling its begging to get nicked tho :thumbdwn:

Yeah but where i live it wont get knicked, and if i left it anywhere over night i'd take it out, only takes 5mins to take out and put back in.

Thats a hell of a first mod!

I normally buy a panel filter or something not install some very smart in-car pc :D

Fair play mate it looks nice

Its very nice indeed, but whats the point?

Not being arsey, genuine question :)

Ive also got a usb GPS reciever on the dash, i use it for Satnav.

Whats the point in satnav? same reason everyone else has it.

Why didn't i just buy a normal satnav unit, well this is also a PC, if i dont get much use out of it i can take it out, and use it as a normal PC. Im also going to get a cable to go from 'phono-out' on the back of the pc and plug it into a AUX input on the back of a new HU and have a 40gb mp3 player.

It can also be used for playing movies or videos, and i can surf briskoda.net whilst getting a McDonalds drive through! hehe.

I'm just a geek..

See where your coming from now :)

I absolutely love it!

The best mod for a vRS by a mile. Looks so bling, can be used as a MP3 player, wireless internet, sat nav, DVD player, front & reverse camera can also be wired in (would be good for making video's etc).

I looked into one of these for my Mondeo, got it from carputer.com/co.uk, had a removable facia (the monitor) so no harder to take off than a standard H/U.

It looks the bo!!ocks

P.S. I am a geek too.

Well done

Whats behind the screen? It looks pink, black and white, and teddy bearish

Good spot :)

Are you one of those people that look for inconsistencies in films aswell :D:D:D

Classic Example - Minority report - Tom Cruise opens a door and when he closes the door it's on the other side of the room

IMDB has "goofs" for most films - excellent wealth of irrelevant information

Chris

As are you. . Only joking

Carputer looks good. I would want to hide the pc though. Also is it folding??

how long do you get from the battery? will it run out after 20 mins when the car is not switched on?

Looks great, did you get the bits from mini-itx.com? I love that site :D

I too would be slightly wary of having just the screen on show, never mind the box visible under the glovebox. But if you're in a very safe, low-crime area then fair play  I still might locate the box somewhere else though, and I'd love to see the screen plumbed in the dash, taking the place of the Symphony and cubby hole

And yes, as you say, certainly a different first mod than I was expecting - mudflaps, clear indicator bulbs etc ;)

Steve

EDIT: And it looks like you need to add SP2 to your XP build, looking at the middle pic :D
