removing old phone details

Featured Replies

I have recently bought a second hand Octavia SE estate and there are 2 phones registered with it from the preious owner. How do I get rid of them please?

Go to Bluetooth under Setup, find paired devices and delete the ones you don't need.

+1 for the above.
This should remove the phone détails & stored contacts for the previous owner.

In the "Setup" menu there is also the option at the bottom of the list for "Restore Factory Settings".

In this menu you have the option for which data to reset, driving data, navigation POI/favourites, phone, music etc

Which is what I'll be doing the morning this car goes back to the dealer.

Off topic a little - but I must say I'm impressed that every time I've made any changes to my contacts on my phone, and I re-enter my Octy, the infotainment immediately advises me it's updated the contacts!

So it immediately scans my phone for any changes the instant I get in the car and updates accordingly!

That's excellent.  My old Mazda didn't do that - I had to re-import the phonebook manually and force it to overwrite existing contacts.

Simply clever.
