Software updates were being done on the early cars by the time your car was first registrered.

So if your car was built say in May then it should have left the factory with the up to date software.

(But then SEAT Dealership staff surely know if they were applying new software on cars built in Jan, Feb, March and April 2013.)

You are trying to fight a fight in the UK that others have fought for years.

Australia is a totally different thing.

As to the DQ200 DSG and a 2013 car having '34F7' carried out.

That was maybe a SEAT Dealership taking the chance to get money from carrying that out.

OK many thanks for your help. I think i might just resign to defeat and go for an engine reconditioning which I've been quoted 2k for. I'm just annoyed that they've had it for 3 month now and they could have diagnosed it much earlier as ive lost out on value of the car and 3 months road tax and insurance.

You can get a full CTHE engine with 50k for around a £1000-1500, I've seen them as low as £700. Another option is if your going to rebuild it.....Forge the internals, Your talking around £3000-3500 to get it rebuilt and fully forged.
