Need some help from MY16/17 owners with SmartLink

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I've been doing some research and I want to see if I can find a way of activating MirrorLink and potentially other features of my Amundsen unit.

I came across the FEC, SWaP lists within the service mode that shows what features are enabled and I'm keen to see what others have in the installed section.

I have a box standard MY17 SE Sport-

00070200
00040100
08400008
00030000
00050000

Supported codes contains a lot of codes so won't bother listing them.

Thinking that I can use VCDS to see where these are defined or even find a way to export them to an SD card or similar to view or even change them.

If you have an Amundsen in a new build with SmartLink could you post your installed codes?

1. Hold Menu button until service mode shows.
2. Press "Function enabling codes (FEC, SWaP)"
3. Press "Installed codes"

As I understand the codes shown are identifiers to the function they enable and not unique to the car/vin.

Dont think you can activate Smartlink with VCDS, but happy to be corrected....

Think it involves the dealer entering a licence code which is verified online whne the car is connected to their ODIS system or similar...

Always like to try these things out ;)

I've had a look within VCDS/OBDEleven and you can see references to SWaP function codes etc.

Looking to see how it all ties together, even if it's to just prove it can't be done lol

AFAIK the SWaP codes that are stored in the MIB unit are a combination of the Function, Chassis Number and Licence Key.

Good look with this, some very knowledgeable people on the VCP forum have been trying things like this for a while

Still, knowing what those with Mirror/Active link have in their funational codes could prove useful to those willing to push beyond the fold.

Get posting bitches ;)

@pipocas77 Welcome to the forum first of all.

You do have a fair bit of work to do to make all this work, and risk of breaking your unit if not careful.

  1. Update Software Train to 0253 version
  2. You then need to enable Developer Menu in radio with VCDS or similar
  3. You will have to then install MIB Toolkit (and make modification to this package for 0253 firmware)
  4. Once this is installed, you then need to figure out to patch your system

Thanks !
