DSG Gritty Gears

Featured Replies

Ive had 3 enjoyable months so far with my 220ps SEL Exec Hatch. What an engine!

However I have noticed something that really annoys me: as I press the gearstick release trigger the feeling is gritty- if that makes sense?- and its also not that pleasant to move the gearstick from Park to Drive and back - again, just feels 'gritty' as if there's some sand in the works! Ive had DSG in a VW before without this issue and my last Volvo V40 was as smooth as silk. Is this a shared experience or should I go to the dealer and raise this as an issue? It just spoils an otherwise slick (and very swift!) driving experience.

Even the Tea making person at a Dealership can not say 'they all do that' or it is the Engineers Design Feature or a characteristic of the DSG, so best have a Techician from their workshop find the reason or fault.
