Generic Map on a Hybrid Turbo ?

Featured Replies

Thank you for that Kris,  I was just checking out one more option and as a novice on the engine management side when somebody from a reputable garage here say's we could get you something near enough It is a godsend for an expert to give their opinion, without it I would never know.

So on that basis I will heed the replies above and EKM (Kris) and find this custom map.   Pay day is not far away ( woop woop)  and the wife is no longer throwing missiles at me on the prospect of a wee bit more money on the car.

Im going to work hard to find a custom mapper who I can get in the next 10 days......If this does not work out then I really do feel I will have to burden kris at EKM and throw a plan around along with exchanges of funds to help as without a custom map I just dont want to drive it!

Today we are snowed in up the hill,  Hmmm maybe I should get a Land rover again!

To all the above replies,  I thank you!!

Right time to show the bairn snow for the first time.

It's perfectly safe to drive the car, it's not like it's a petrol engine which can be destroyed by detonation! It just won't go as well as it could and the CEL will be on because you've deleted the EGR system.

To get the most out of your setup you need a custom remap whichever route you decide to take.

A stage one or stage two generic remap won't run/pull as well as a custom map will.

Hi all,

Thought a quick update was in order.....

So after months of fettling fine tuning and upgrading parts with new radiator, turbo, exhaust and Airtec Rmic suspension clutch/flywheel finishing with servicing all lubricants it was time to head down south to SOS Motorsport. I literally had just finished all the suspension and we were away! On the advice from on here I booked a custom map but had to travel as Inverness has nowhere capable.

So this morning it dropped car off at the above and was very impressed at the guy's attitude and size of workshop and rolling road.  Nerves killed me all morning walking round shops with the wife and baby, it's like "it's gonna let go on the rolling road" and " it's gonna come back 98bhp" was flying through my head.. But no issues and he said the turbo was good to give more power but I don't have the paddle clutch yet so he knocked it down a bit.

first run was like 230bhp and I came away with 213.6bhp and 343 ftlb  turbo is only at 1.5 bar so I'm happy...delighted!!

so update over, speak next week when I'm back from hols.

ta ta and thanks for all the help
