Answering HFT calls via the steering wheel button

Featured Replies

It's become apparent that on some Honda's (including mine a 2016 CR-V) when doing the above there is a delay of a couple of seconds before you can speak and in one case, using an I- phone, the button won't work at all.

Answering via the touchscreen however gives an instant connection on all models of car and makes of phone.

It has been suggested that this issue affects other manufacturers as well as Honda and could be a Bluetooth issue. The Honda dealers are aware of it but don't offer any resolution.

I just wondered if any Skoda owners on here had experienced similar issues.

I remember reading something about bluetooth issues on an iOS update, something to do with the version of bluetooth.

My 2015 Mazda was a bit random with this and would regularly do odd things.

It would delay picking up the call or go silent for a while or something else.

Older Accord was much the same.

I'm starting to assume that in general; car hands-free systems are all ****e

Agree

It's a relief if either actually works without having to fiddle each time, in my experience

Most parrot based systems ive used have been like this. Answer call, wait for a count of 3-5 then start talking. Meanwhile the other person is talking like an idiot.

the one fitted in the insignia seems fairly decent though, no real delays on ring out or receiving

Thanks for the replies.  Looks like it is a Bluetooth problem and not just on Hondas, so I'll have to live with it or just press the answer button on the touch screen.

Mine works almost instantly and every time if it helps :)

It can have issues with low signal/changing masts but that's all.

My Panda has the most basic Bluetooth system ever, after all it is a bargain basement car but aside from needing to get the Mrs to translate when I set it up it works surprisingly well!

You need a sophisticated car and then you can tear your hair out and not feel you're missing out on the pleasure.)))
